What we are building now
From the sea to stronger soils
Supported by CAF – development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean
Sargassum seaweed does not have to end its journey at the shoreline. With CAF’s support, this initiative brings producers, students and technical teams together to explore how locally produced bioinputs can contribute to healthier soils, more resilient agriculture and new knowledge rooted in Dominican communities. The project will use PREMIER, a sargassum-based bioinput produced by SOS Biotech and distributed by FERSAN.
Blue Students: learning by doing
Supported by the Government of Canada through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives
Classrooms move into the field. Through Blue Students, university students, producers and technical mentors learn side by side, using sargassum-based bioinputs, PREMIER, as a practical doorway into sustainable agriculture, climate action and the possibilities of the blue economy.

Within the wider SOS ecosystem, this initiative connects responsible collection, sargassum-based bioinputs, community opportunities and carbon outcomes. It shows why a coastal challenge cannot be solved in fragments—and why people must remain part of the value chain.

Two underwater cleanups brought fishermen, volunteers and community members together to remove plastic, foam and other waste from the seabed—small, visible acts that turned ocean stewardship into something shared.
